‘The Marvels’ Review

The Marvels is a superhero film based on Marvel Comics characters Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman) from a screenplay written by DaCosta, Megan McDonnell (WandaVision) and Elissa Karasik (Loki). Featuring Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Park Seo-joon, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and Samuel L. Jackson; it is the sequel to Captain Marvel (2019), and the 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Set after the events of WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and Secret Invasion the story follows Carol, Monica, and Kamala as they team up to fight the Kree revolutionary Dar-Benn who has entangled their abilities using an ancient bangle similar to Kamala’s.
