A former employee of the Winthrop University print shop, George Robert Walker, age 62, of Rock Hill S.C. was charged with two counts of breach of trust over $5000, a felony. Walker misused a Winthrop University credit card and ran up a charge of $209,370 between August 15, 2007 and August 15, 2008.
The fraud was discovered during a special police audit of the printing services department of the University after all the prices for the printing services departments were increased. Walker had been taking the card from a desk he was authorized to access, but not remove anything from. He was released on a personal bond of $150,000.
