‘Gladiator II’ Review

Gladiator II is an epic historical action film directed and produced by Ridley Scott (The Last Duel) from a screenplay written by David Scarpa (All the Money in the World). Featuring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen, and Denzel Washington; it’s a sequel to Gladiator (2000). The story follows Lucius, now going by Hanno, whose home is invaded by the Roman army led by General Acacius. After losing his wife in the ensuing battle and getting captured into slavery, Lucius seeks revenge against Acacius. He is given an opportunity to exact his revenge by fighting as a gladiator for Macrinus, a former slave who plans to overthrow the twin Roman Emperors Geta and Caracalla.
