Avatar: Fire and Ash is an epic sci-fan action film directed and produced by James Cameron (True Lies), from a screenplay he co-wrote with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes). Featuring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, Matt Gerald, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Jemaine Clement, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, Filip Geljo, Duane Evans, Jr., Oona Chaplin and David Thewlis, it is the sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and the third installment in the Avatar franchise. Taking place shortly after the events of the previous film, the story follows the Sully family as they encounter a new, aggressive Na’vi tribe, known as the Ash People, while hiding from Quaritch and the RDA.
