Monkey Man is an action thriller directed by Dev Patel in his directorial debut from a screenplay written by Patel, Paul Angunawela (Keith Lemon: The Film), and John Collee (Hotel Mumbai). Featuring Patel, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash Tripathy, Vipin Sharma, Sikandar Kher, Adithi Kalkunte, Sobhita Dhulipala, Ashwini Kalsekar, Makarand Deshpande, Jatin Malik, and Zakir Hussain. Set in India, the story follows Kid, a fighter who seeks revenge on a corrupt police chief and politically influential spiritual guru whose massacre of his village caused the death of his mother.
