Ancient Zoan is a sub-class of Zoan that allows users to transform into ancient animals, such as extinct dinosaurs, mammals and arachnids. Ancient Zoan Fruits are much rarer than regular Zoans and seem to augment the user’s raw physical abilities to a greater extent than standard Zoans. Nine Ancient Zoan powers have been revealed so far, with the only non-dinosaurs being the mammoth, saber-toothed tiger and rosamygale grauvogeli. This leads me to believe that at this point Oda will continue to reveal more as the series continues. I believe the users will expand beyond the Beast Pirates as there are many more extinct animals to choose from. Below is a list of the eight potential Ancient Zoan Devil Fruits that have the best chance to appear before One Piece ends its run.

Sasu Sasu no Mi,
Model: Pulmonoscorpius
Kirktonensis
(Sting-Sting Fruit, Model: Pulmonoscorpius
Kirktonensis)
Pulmonoscorpius kirktonensis is an extinct species of scorpion that lived during the Viséan and Serpukhovian ages of the Carboniferous period with the largest individuals possibly attaining the size of about two and a half feet in length. This fruit allows the user to transform in full or hybrid Pulmonoscorpius kirktonensis at will. As with other Ancient Zoans, this fruit’s transformation bestows greater strength and durability than regular Zoans. While in full Pulmonoscorpius kirktonensis form granted by this fruit the user gains an extremely durable exoskeleton, powerful pincers, eight limbs, animalistic strength, and a long tail with a venomous stinger. Being a prehistoric predatory arachnid, the Pulmonoscorpius kirktonensis is better adapted for combat than normal Zoans. Otherwise, the user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Tori Tori no Mi,
Model: Archaeopteryx
(Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Archaeopteryx)
Archaeopteryx was generally accepted by paleontologists and popular reference books as the oldest known bird. Archaeopteryx lived in the Late Jurassic around 150 million years ago with the largest individuals possibly attaining the size of about two feet in length. This fruit allows the user to transform in full or hybrid Archaeopteryx at will. As with other Ancient Zoans, this fruit’s transformation bestows greater strength and durability than regular Zoans. While in full Archaeopteryx form granted by this fruit the user gains animalistic strength, flight, sharp teeth and claws, and a long bony tail. Being a prehistoric predatory bird, the Archaeopteryx is better adapted for combat than normal Zoans. Otherwise, the user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Inu Inu no Mi,

The dire wolf is a large canine that went extinct during the Ice Age. It is one of the most famous prehistoric carnivorous megafauna, along with its extinct competitor the saber-toothed Tiger. This fruit allows the user to transform in full or hybrid dire wolf at will. As with other Ancient Zoans, this fruit’s transformation bestows greater strength and durability than regular Zoans. While in full dire wolf form granted by this fruit the user gains increased size, animalistic strength, high agility as well as sharp claws and fangs. However, as with other canines the user is susceptible to high-pitched frequencies. Being a carnivorous canine, the dire wolf is better adapted for combat than normal Zoans. Otherwise, the user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Hebi Hebi no Mi,

The Titanoboa is an extinct genus of very large snakes that lived during the Paleogene Period. They could grow up to 42 feet long and reach a weight of 2,500 pounds. While in full Titanoboa form granted by this fruit the user gains a gain a long, powerful, muscular and versatile body that they can use like a real Titanoboa to constrict enemies with powerful coils, as well as sharp fangs. However, the tail of the form can be tied to an object to limit their movement and leaving them vulnerable. Being a carnivorous reptile, the Titanoboa is better adapted for combat than normal Zoans. Otherwise, the user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Sai Sai no Mi,
Model: Megacerops
(Rhino-Rhino Fruit, Model: Megacerops)
The Megacerops is an extinct group of rhinoceros-like browsers that lived during the Paleogene Period. This fruit allows the user to transform in full or hybrid Megacerops at will. Hito Hito no Mi,
Model: Caveman
(Human-Human Fruit, Model: Caveman)
The Caveman is representative of primitive humans in the Stone Age. Most likely based off the Neanderthals that went extinct due to a combination of climate change, disease and assimilation into the modern human genome. This fruit allows the user to transform in full or hybrid Caveman at will. As with other Ancient Zoans, this fruit’s transformation bestows greater strength and durability than regular Zoans. While in full Caveman form granted by this fruit the user gains a larger more robust build and proportionally shorter limbs, specialized body-fat storage, and physique built for persistence hunting. Being an apex predator, the Caveman is better adapted for combat than normal Zoans. If consumed by an animal or object, this fruit grants them the intelligence of a Caveman as well as the ability to speak. If the user is an animal, they retain their Caveman intelligence even when not transformed and ability to communicate with other animals as well. If consumed by a Human they will keep their normal intelligence. Otherwise, the user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Titanomyrma is a genus of prehistoric giant winged ant comparable in size to modern hummingbirds. This fruit allows the user to transform in full or hybrid Titanomyrma at will. Being a prehistoric predatory insect, the Titanomyrma is better adapted for combat than normal Zoans. Otherwise, the user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Zou Zou no Mi,

A Mastodon is any proboscidean belonging to the genus Mammut that went extinct during the Ice Age. This fruit allows the user to transform in full or hybrid mastodon at will. While in full Mastodon form granted by this fruit the user gains a massive muscular frame, sharp cusp-shaped teeth, animalistic strength, and huge linear tusks that can be used as weapons. However, the user is extremely heavy and slow in this form, leaving them unable to dodge high-speed attacks. Otherwise, the user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses. The fruit is very similar to the Zou Zou no Mi, Model: Mammoth with only slight differences between appearances.
Next to Mythical Zoans, Ancient Zoans are some of the most interesting Devil Fruits Oda has introduced in One Piece. Although it would be nice if he introduced Plantae Zoans at some point. Imagine a character turning into a Rosa kordesii (Red Rose), Toxicodendron rydbergii (Poison ivy), Dionaea muscipula (Venus flytrap), or Drosera capensis (Cape sundew). Only time will tell.
