Glass is intended to be the third and final installment in M. Night Shyamalan’s horror-thriller superhero trilogy which includes, Unbreakable and Split. Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Spencer Treat Clark, and Charlayne Woodard will reprise their roles from Unbreakable, while James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy will return as their characters from Split, along with Sarah Paulson joining the cast as a psychiatrist specializing in delusions of grandeur who treats patients convinced that they are superhumans. Of all the returning characters the most surprising one is Casey Cooke (Anya Taylor-Joy). Casey was one of the three girls kidnapped by “Dennis”, one of Kevin’s personalities as a potential sacrifice to “The Beast” in Split but managed to survive after “The Beast” declared Casey to be “pure” and spared her life.
Now while “pure” can be taken as someone who hasn’t experienced suffering in their lives as Kevin and Casey have, I believe that it may have an alternative meaning. I believe that those that are “pure” are those that have the ability to manifest powers. Casey developing a power would be the best reason to bring her character back for this film. It would be interesting to see “Mr. Glass” (Samuel L. Jackson) and “The Horde” (James McAvoy) try and convert her to join the side of evil while David Dunn (Bruce Willis) tries to convince her to use her powers for good. But what powers would Casey develop that would make her so important? So far, M. Night Shyamalan has given us hints as to what each person’s powers are in the title of each film. Unbreakable is a reference to David Dunn’s enhanced strength, durability, and density. While Split is a reference to Kevin’s ability to change his body chemistry to match each of his 24 personalities. Glass could be a reference to Casey gaining the power to become invisible or transparent. There’s also the possibility she could become a reflection of her opponent, mirroring their abilities.
Or maybe Casey has a minor role in the film and Glass is just a reference to Mr. Glass. Maybe Cole Sear from The Sixth Sense will make an appearance. Some would consider the ability to talk to ghosts a power. Powers that have possibly grown stronger over the years. That’s clearly a longshot, but whatever the case may be, it’s exciting to find out how this story is going to end.
Glass is due to arrive in theaters on January 18, 2019.

Good guess about her being invisible and mirroring. It made me think of the scene in the car when Dennis/Kevin kidnaps the girls and he doesn’t notice Casey in the front seat. It’s almost like she wasn’t there, not until she opens the door and the door sound goes off. Interesting.
Casey is the whisperer. She has the ability to make anyone follow her orders. This is referenced in split with her ordering the other captive girls to follow her instruction and her ordering the beast. M. Night also includes scenes with her ordering the doctor in Mr. Glass, she orders Kevin, and a brief glimpse of a comic called The Whisperer. Sounds like her powers were an Easter egg in the movie. At least imo
Staple is the Whisperer. That was the twist, the whole time she was a super, and was using her powers to convince other supers that they were ordinary. She pretty much says so at the end.
